Email demos and our submission questionnaire  to submissions@kdragon.raiseaticket.com

  • If all checks out with what you have sent us we will send you a contract - read it and if happy sign it
  • Return the contract back to us - email it to submissions@kdragon.raiseaticket.com
  • Supply the music listed in the contract + cover art and lyrics - we will contact you about delivery of this to us
We will then review and submit your music to the digital stores who will then review and set it up on their sites. This can take up to 4 weeks so it is important to check the date of submission to us to allow enough time if meeting a specific launch / release date.
THE IMPORTANT THINGS:-
Advances - To keep our costs and financial risk low, we do not pay advances to artists unless we decide to is viable. NOTE - Those artists who ask for an advance will have their submission declined on this premise alone.
Artwork - Minimum resolution of 3000 x 3000 pixels, 1:1 ratio (i.e. square).  Free from mention of pricing, logos, website addresses or any other reference to established businesses such as charities, TV, games or other popular culture, references to physical products such as CD1, Side A, RPM, a barcode that doesn't match the digital barcode, references to the release date of a product or ‘out now'. Any uses of the Explicit Content logo must be the BPI version, and the tracks question must be marked in the contract as such.
Audio Specifications - WAV file (we can convert others by arrangement), bit depths: 16-bit / 24-bit, sample rates: 44.1 kHz / 48 kHz / 88.2 kHz / 96 kHz. If you don't have your music in this format or its not mastered, then with our partnership with Dragon Studios we can do this for you. Other formats are acceptable by agreement with us (such as 1/4 inch tape or DAT tape of the Masters) .
Chart - All K Dragon Record tracks (where eligible) are submitted to the official charts in the UK, US and Canada. We are currently looking at also being able to register releases in other countries.
Contract - Once the contract has been returned to us and reviewed, it is treated as being in place (unless otherwise arranged). The contract only covers the listed tracks. If an artist wishes to release more tracks via our service they will need to submit a new contract to cover them. Once accepted a copy of the contract will also be signed by us and returned.
Costs - There are no up front, annual costs, subscriptions or renewal fees. All we take is our cut of the royalties.
Covers - Many groups produce cover versions of existing songs. If you’re uploading a cover track, it isn’t necessary to get explicit permission from the rights holder. It’s understandable that in most cases this wouldn’t be possible. It is, however, essential to ensure you don’t change the composition of the track, as you’ll then require permission from the original copyright owners for the track. Where a licence is required you must send a copy of the license with your submission. ‘Mashup’ covers where two or more tracks are being mixed together, will require permission from the original copyright owners for all tracks.
Genre - We accept submission of any genre, however on an E.P. or album we would expect them to be of the same genre family. So for example an album may contain different types of House music - Hip, Italo and NRG, but it could not contain House and Heavy Metal.
Gigs and Tours - We would refer to our partner SI Management to help you find gigs / shows / tours. While we have some contacts in this sphere we are not experts in this field and either the band themselves or their manager should contact venues / promoters. You can also find some more suggestions here https://www.wikihow.com/Get-Gigs-for-Your-Band
Management- As part of the signing of our contract you are also signing to be represented exlusively by SI Management . As your management company they help you with PR and to raise you profile., not just on social media but in general. They will also look for opportunities such as appearances and gigs. They will also act as your day to day main point of contact.
Meetings- As with advances we offer so much for so little by keeping costs down as much as week can. To that end we don't have big office for meeting people or travel to meet people unless they are local to us. Occasionally we may go further but only when invited to special events.
Merchandising - The company will use at it discresion artwork and or images submitted to us for the production of a number of promotional items available from our online shop. Clients then receive the same rate of royalties from everything we receive on the sale of these items.
Outlets - Who do we send the music to. Your music is submitted (depending on genre and some other factors) to up to 200 digital stores and streaming services including iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play and YouTube. The outlets cover the UK, US, Canada, EU and Russia. As certain outlets favor certain genres / tracks other than the main stores, we can not guarantee which will pick up your music.
Ownership - The Artiste as Beneficial Owner HEREBY GRANTS, TRANSFERS AND ASSIGNS to the Company by way of present and future assignments:-
Throughout the Territory in respect of the Masters to manufacture records there from and to sell, release, license, advertise, and otherwise deal or dispose of the same or refrain there from, and the right to authorise others to do any of the foregoing as the Company shall in its reasonable commercial judgement, deem appropriate, which right includes without limitation the right:-
(a) To use and allow others to use the name (including without limitation the present professional name of the Artiste or any future professional name) approved likenesses and approved biographical material of and concerning the Artiste in connection with the promotion and publicity of the Records, the Artiste, and the Company.
(b) To perform publicly or to permit the public performance of the Masters and records and the Artiste's performances embodied therein throughout the Territory.
The entire copyright and all other right title and interests in and to the Masters and the Records shall vest solely in the Company for the entire period of copyright in perpetuity for exploitation by any means whether now known or hereafter invented throughout the world free from all restrictions and free from moral rights which rights the Artiste hereby expressly waves. This then allows us to act on your behalf for selling and collecting the royalties. It in no way impedes your performing your own music (nor would we want it to) or having it play on a radio stations - although we would where possible love you to drop, that the music is on the K Dragon Records label.
Promotion - While growing we are also building up connections within the industry which help enable us to promote and plug our releases to radio stations. We also send out press releases and build up artist profiles on places like Spotify, Last.fm and Discogs. We also use SI Management for PR and you should keep in regular contact with them as much as possible to discuss what you are currently doing and opportunities available.
Registration - All released tracks are registered for copyright purposes by Kolbalt, PPL, Discogs, Musicbrainz and any other music rights societies / music databases we join.
Radio Play - We have a database of international radio station that we submit our release to and ask if and when it is going to be played so we can advertise the fact. We are also registered with the Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) to collect royalties from such airplay.  This is dealt with by K Dragon Publishing along with other usage opportunities.
Royalties - We take 10%, and the rest is paid directly to you via PayPal. From time to time there are other opportunities which may arise such as sync deals which we will negotiate as they come up.
Sampling - To use samples of another record you need a license from the original copyright holder. You will need to send a copy of this license to us with your submission.
Timescale - If you want your release to go live on May 1st, but plan for a week-long pre-order period beginning on April 24th, you should have successfully sent us your release by March 27th. If anything we would always suggest submitting to us early, as a release can be held back for a certain release date.
Videos - Music videos are created by our partner AJM Productions. We would suggest that if you would like a video created for a release, that you discuss your ideas before the release date as to give them time ready for creating the video before the release date.
