Advances: To keep our costs and financial risk low, we do not pay advances to artists unless we decide it is viable. NOTE: Artists who ask for an advance may have their submission declined based on this alone.
Artwork: Minimum resolution of 3000 x 3000 pixels, 1:1 ratio (square). Artwork should be free from pricing, logos, website addresses, or references to established businesses like charities, TV, games, etc.
Audio Specifications: WAV file with bit depths of 16-bit / 24-bit and sample rates of 44.1 kHz / 48 kHz / 88.2 kHz / 96 kHz. If your music is not mastered, we can assist through our partnership with Dragon Studios.
Chart: All eligible K Dragon Record tracks are submitted to official charts in the UK, US, and Canada, with possible expansion to other countries.
Contract: Once the contract is signed and reviewed, it is considered active. The contract covers only the listed tracks; additional releases require new contracts.
Costs: No upfront, annual, or subscription fees. We take our cut of royalties directly from sales.
Covers: You can submit cover versions as long as the composition remains unchanged. For mashups or modified covers, explicit permission is required from the copyright owners.
Genre: Albums or EPs should maintain genre consistency. For example, House music can vary within its subgenres, but not with different genres like Heavy Metal.
Gigs and Tours: We refer artists to SI Management for gigs and shows. For further help, you can also consult resources like WikiHow’s gig guide.
Meetings: To keep costs low, we do not generally hold in-person meetings unless you are local or we have been invited to special events.
Merchandising: We may use submitted artwork for promotional items, with royalties paid to artists for each sale.
Outlets: Your music is submitted to up to 200 digital platforms, including iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and YouTube, depending on genre and other factors.
Ownership: The artist grants K Dragon Records rights to exploit the music as detailed in the contract.
Promotion: We assist with promoting your music through various industry connections and digital platforms. Regular contact with SI Management is encouraged to discuss opportunities.
Registration: All tracks are registered with copyright societies such as Kobalt, PPL, Discogs, and MusicBrainz.
Radio Play: We submit your music to international radio stations for airplay, collecting royalties through K Dragon Publishing.
Royalties: Through our partners royalties get paid directly to you.
Sampling: You must obtain a license from the original copyright holder for any samples used in your music.
Timescale: Submit your release early to allow enough time for desired release dates, allowing for a week-long pre-order if applicable.
Videos: We collaborate with AJM Productions for music videos. Contact us in advance to ensure videos are ready for release.
